Who Am I?
Hi, I am Maruf Rakib, a photographer based in New York, NY. My photography journey began over 2 years ago, and since then, it has been a thrilling adventure of exploring, learning, and creating. My work spans various genres, including portrait, lifestyle, and fashion, each reflecting my unique perspective and artistic vision. My inspiration comes from movies, magazines, and the world itself; I enjoy creating art that shows a sense of emotion and tells a story.
My Journey
Two years ago, I picked up my first camera, a Sony A6400 with a 16-50mm lens, not knowing that this simple act would change my life. I started using it to document my travels and capture the beauty of the world around me. Little did I know that each click would deepen my fascination with this art form.
The initial months were a whirlwind of learning and experimentation. I spent countless hours understanding the basics of photography—composition, lighting, and exposure. Online tutorials, photography courses, and endless practice became my routine. I was determined to master my craft, and the more I learned, the more I fell in love with the process.
As I honed my technical skills, I began to explore different genres of photography. Through this exploration, I discovered my unique style; a blend of candid moments with a focus on natural light and vibrant colors. My work became a reflection of how I see the world, each photo telling a story and evoking emotion.
The journey has not been without its challenges. From technical hurdles to creative blocks, progress seemed slow at times. However, each challenge was an opportunity to learn and grow. I pushed myself to step out of my comfort zone, experiment with new ideas, and continuously improve my skills.
As I continue this journey, I am excited about the endless possibilities. My goal is to not only capture beautiful images but also to inspire others through my work.
